Get the Stainless. With only $70 difference, pay a little extra for something that will last the life of your car and longer. Is you car a daily driver?

+1 for the Pace, maryland speed a sponsor has them really cheap, considering that they are JETHOT coated inside and outside w/ a lifetime warranty!! and believe me the engine compartment is alot cooler!! Besides you dont have to remove the steering shaft, or grind down any block tabs, those babies just slide right on up and are made in the USA!!
But thats just my .02
Good luck!

I'd just save a little longer, do it once and do it right the first time
Nothing sucks more than cheaping out just to realize that you should have just waited to get the better product to begin with.

American Racing Headers for my baby
What do you mean "do it right"? I had NO fitment problems with the XS headers with the exception that the Y-pipe is close to the floorboard. Although I chose to use the provided Y-pipe, its nothing a custom Y wouldn't cure if I wanted to spend the cheese.

Its already been proven that there is little difference in the performance of one set of longtubes over another - so I guess I fail to see where the additional $700 for a set of Kooks/American Racing, etc. is a worthwhile investment. Spend that extra dough on a cam or other mods and laugh at the Kooks owner as you pass them on the track!

I think that most of the people who are turning their noses up at the XS headers haven't seen them up close and/or worked with them at all.

Some folks just prefer to have U.S. made performance parts, (which cost considerably more to manufacture), on their car. All the cheap S/S systems sold are made overseas and that's a fact. If this doesn't bother you than more power to you. For some it's US made or nothing.

I agree, anything not stainless is not worth it in the long run.
I have some old grotty headers that have been patched many times and look like crap now, have also installed some crappy non-us made stainless headers & the wound up looking like *** and rusting up in the collector area after a few years, on my stang. Id go with American Racing myself. if you could save up $550 you could save $1550.

Edlebrock Victor Race headers and there y-pipe. $500 bucks will make more power then any of the options around them for the money.

If that were so important, why wouldn't they have bought a U.S. made car, like a toyota, instead of one made in Canada?

..and where are you basing your information that the XS stainless headers are made in china? Where are you getting your info that the stainless tubing, welding materials, etc for any of the "american made" headers weren't manufactured overseas? I guarantee you that the folks who make "american made" headers take that money you paid them and shop at walmart...so where does it wind up in the long run?

Anyway....sorry to get

Stainless!!, my ceramic coated pacesetters have been on the car a little over 1 1/2 yrs. and they have surface rust by the merge collectors. My TSP ORY had to be put on by an exhaust shop too cause it didn't fit right. NOT BASHING TSP-- most of my stuff has come from them!

Lower quality Chinese produced S/S and labor that's pennies on the dollar compared to U.S. labor allows companies to import headers here and sell them for nearly 1/2 the cost of U.S. manufactured headers. That's the dead giveaway. Notice they're all knock offs of other U.S. brands. Notice cats and air emissions fittings aren't an option. The entire performance industry is being inundated with overseas knock offs sold considerably cheaper than their U.S. counterparts. Do the research yourself and contact all the reputable U.S. based header manufacturers. Get the truth about what's really happening.

If the XS headers were still $300 I'd say sure but the price has risen and their Y pipe is a POS! Pacestters or save for American Racing/Kooks.
