Default Anyone know what this is....Off of manifold

This is some sort of restictor plate that was in-between header and egr pipe with no gaskets....putting in gaskets to try and clear up a false lean code....just wanted to know if anyone else had this or knew what it is...thanks

that looks like a restrictor plate to prevent the AIR valves from fluttering, never seen one on the EGR port before.

I took of the AIR system on my car, and blocked them off on the manifold.
If you dont need AIR for your emmisions test take it off. the AIR pump weight a fair bit, a little weight saving.

That plate is there to keep the AIR valves from fluttering because the port on the header tube is too big and allows too much pressure to get through. If you need to keep the AIR system for some reason keep the restrictor. Otherwise, just remove the whole thing and save your self the hassle.

Thanks alot man....I will get rid of it eventually but I just started getting a ses light so I want to fix that first and I bought the car a little over 3 weeks ago and drove it like 1500 miles home with no problem.....but when I got it home I started switching suspension and adding some stuff and a pipe boosted off the intercooler.....so I replaced spark plugs and o2's and removed the air tubes to make life easier and found it was missing gaskets...so I think fresh air is getting in and causing a p0171 and p0174 code so I ordered all new gaskets and will put em on this morning....hopefully that takes care of it because it is just some sort of air leak....here is the link to that problem

Yep, that would definitely cause those lean codes. Gald it worked out for you. You can get block off plates for the AIR and EGR ports for pretty cheap if you want. I think I paid $10-$15 for mine. Hope that SES stays off, looks like a real nice setup.
