This is exactly why I would only get a normal cut out. Something about having an electric motor next to all the heat and dirt of an exhaust system just never sounded right to me. Just get a regular cutout and leave it open all the time.

I had a QTP for 5 months...then it started sticking and overall crapping out. Have had my DMH on there for about 8 months now. ZERO problems....and you cant beat that warranty!

I have a McCord that's still working fine after 2+ years.
I also have a broken one I bought for a project, and
its gearbox was bone dry. They want preventive
maintenance like anything else. And I think the closer
in to the header collector you are, the worse they will
get cooked (mine is out back) and the more often want
grease. WD-40 is a nice quick fix but it doesn't stick
around too long.
