Radical Radiator Relocation?
#102
just found this thread. great work, Jason! I've been trying to figure how to lay the radiator forward for my upcoming turbo project. the radiator laying forward with the factory airdam feeding it from the bottom should cool MUCH better than the factory location since the air has to turn much less to flow through the core. and it will free up huge amounts of room for turbo(s) in front of the engine. I just need my intercooler feeding from the front opening and the rad from the bottom. you've really shown me the way. thanks.

Jason, where ar you at with this?
I was just going back through old threads and found this. I have unintentionally duplicated your efforts by filling in my TCS indentation on the shock tower as well. I used part of an old fender and welded it in. Then smoothed it a bit with bondo. I also bondo'd the seam directly behind it. I am a little conserned with it cracking due to flex. How did you do yours?

I was just thinking about what you were up to as well Bro, its been a while since I have seen anything from you; I was beginning to get worried that you quit on us.
Since we share the joy of crazy mod ideas, and since I lack the mad skills you have, I was worried that I could not live my need to customize through you, lol.
I wish I knew you when I lived in Houston, I probably would have stayed. I have a good Bro that lives in Ohio that has mad skills like you; if the two of you ever had the chance to collaborate that would be some sick ****, lol. The only issues he has is that he is ADHD; after 4 year I am still trying to get him to finish my Suicide Lambo Hinges, lol.
Anyways, glad to see that you're still around

My latest idea is to build a one peice louvered sheetmetal cover to place over my low mount radiator as well as the sides. It would match the sloped angle of the radiator and the louvers will face the engine. It would cover all the steel tubing and give the engine compartment a very clean look. Paint it gloss black and it will look super nice AND be functional in keeping rain water off the fans, be easy to wipe down and direct the air at the engine. I can use dunz fastners to hold it in place and for easy removal.
I can hide an air cleaner box and the MAF in front of the passenger tire, hide the fuses under the other side and then build a split aluminum tubing air intake from the throttle body to the air box on one side (functional) and a blocked off tube to the fuse area. This will give it a nice "turbo" or exotic look. Plus it will focus the eye to the jewel in the box, aka the engine.
I'm open to suggestions though. I might make the cover 3 piece for instance.

How about we skip this topic all together and you pm all posters "uncensored" pics of your G/F ?? Don't get bent out of shape bro, she's smoking. What? Don't anyone say you weren't thinking the same thing!! LOL.....
On a serious note, its cool that you have some creative ideas, but not to sure how well they will work. Seems like the radiator was installed the way it was for a reason. JMHO

Back on topic.... I wish I could put the radiator up there but it wouldnt work with the FMIC I have there. Im sure it could work but unless I need room for a turbo... theres no point right now.
