take a K&N filter and a fram and cut them open and you will find out why we hate the fram.

When I worked at a parts store we cut open a bunch of different filters to see how they where constructed. The AC Delco had like 45-46 pleats, the mobil 1 had like 55 pleats the cheap generic one had 30+ pleats and then the fram had 16!! and also the cardboard end cap was also a nice touch. and that sure grip that melts off of the end. Its been a while so I dont remember he exact number but I think we cut open the Honda filter number for all the above listed. I bet they are the same for LS! part numbers too.

Ok see thats a better answer. Well I guess Ive been in the cold on this one. Ive used them for years. Although before my last oil change my oil pressure was constantly low, and since I changed it again, its been back to normal ever since. I suppose Ill make the switch next oil change.

Thanks for letting me in on the not so secret.

Good stuff there. For some reason I never had faith in that Lucas additive, I like the test he did on it, looks like I was right, even though at the time I didnt have a reason.

I tried the k&N (truck) filter but its very dangerous because the nut hangs down so low. I pulled it off after it hit a few times. I took pics of it on my car damaged. It was pretty bad, I dont see how I didnt lose my oil. went back to napa gold or M1

I was just comparing Wix filter numbers and it seem the 51522 is indeed the same as the 51402. 51402 is the factory short filter and the 51522 is the long filter that I use on the H3. I am going to try the extra capacity 51522 on the camaro and see how it goes.

K&N HP2006 here. I've always ran it and NEVER even scratched the bottom of it, even with my previous TA that was lowered...
