yes it should give you more flow. The screen is used to straighten out the aiflow moving across the sensor so it gets a clear reading, but f-body's have a straight intake, not curved like a truck's.
Go ahead and take it off.

This has been debated many times here, search for the many posts.. Many have said that it help for a daily driver, many have said not.
Mostly comes down to that for a Daily driver.. don't spend the time doing it..
If your going to race it a lot, re-tuned, TB P&P... then yes.
Read up and you make the decision...your car, your call, but if you do it and then want to go back. then you will most likely have to pickup another one that still has it on.

I agree with bczee. just because the intake track is straight doesnt mean the air is smooth. the cleaner the air that hits the sensor, the more accurate the reading.

Yes, but what is actualy a bigger restriction are the MAF ends.
I gained .3 and 4mph at the track just switching stock to ported ends.
Problem is that requires tuning (I have HPT)

Is a waste of time, spend it watching TV or cleaning something. Get about the same results when the time is up. Seen it done, have done it myself (ported polished for others), and never have seen anything good come of it track or dyno. I thought I felt a differnece too till I had to replace it just to get the tune right when you start doing real mods. If you really want to make a difference go with a SD tune and get rid of it all together.

i think the gains that people "feel" by taking off a screen is all mental.. kinda like a gain from adding a lid, people say i "feel" a difference, but i think its all in a persons head.. dont descreen it..

My screen has caught things before they went into my intake several times. It seems that it doesn't matter how well I try to make sure my Lid is sealed up, some how garbage finds a way. Mine is staying right where it is.
