They are supposed to fit much tighter since they revised the design...did you try heating up the neck a little?

It's definitely hard to mash it in there, but it shouldn't be THAT hard.

I used a heat gun for about a minute all around the neck, then just shoved and shoved.

Same, except it doesn't align with the base of the intake properly so I need to do some heating.

I had the same problem. It was a real tight fit with the stock maf even heating a little it was still tough, but it went on.... the good thing is it will probably never come loose.

No issues with fitment to MAF, but the damn thing keeps on popping the passenger side clip... I think I got it now, but that was a bit annoying!

They changed the design of their lids at the beginning of the year if anyone remembers. Heres the thread about them being out of stock while the new ones were being made and info on how to get it to fit (heat up the neck with a hairdryer )

i thought the slp lid was one of the best lids as far as quality and fittment?.. i bought mine back in '02 and had no problems at all . is the "new design" crap?

i guess its better to have a tight fit then a leaking loose fit,
the maf is the same size as the lid opening just making it a very tight fit.

I have done hundreds of bolts ons to lt1 and ls1 over the years, from headers to intakes to heads and cams, and have not had a problem fitting.

Go to post #17...I did not realize that the lid was supposed to fit like in the pic...The left clip on mine kept on popping off...After seeing this, it fixed the problem...
