Location is going to be the biggest thing I'm sure. I've always been taught that it should be at the hottest area.
Overall I expect the X-Pipe to come out ahead, especially on top end.

I am curious if anyone has ever used termination boxes with an X pipe? I have thought it over and I am not sure if there would be any benefit because the X pipe essentially increases the exhaust volume like a termination box but it also allows the exhaust to use the negative pressure waves from each cylinder bank. Just curious.
