Good to hear... I just added some NGK TR-55 plugs to my Speed Inc. order...

my car totally feels like what he's explaining right now, before my header install, which should be this week or next...

I've got these wires currently...

Without a doubt. With my stock manifolds the only way I could get to the 8 plug was from the bottom and even then it was a bitch. With the headers all I had to do was take off the passenger coil packs and it was in plain view. Made my life simple!

Yeah, last summer I put in ngk iridiums that I paid about 10 bucks a piece for. I hated the thought of having screwed them up. But you live and learn I guess. I just went with the oem acdelco iridiums this time.

Why wouldn't you do plugs and wires while your doing headers anyway? No use is trying to be careful unless you already have the plugs you want. If so, take them out and save yourself the headache.

so just to make sure... in this order... right?

1. uninstall stock headers
2. take out all old spark plugs
3. install new LT's
4. install new spark plugs

I think the OP got what he wanted out of the post so I will take over . Ok well i too am having problems after my header install. The car feels the same as it did before the LT's and it performs the same. Here is my scenario, I installed everything, took it out for a spin and wow, the car pulled way harder than before, i was really impressed. THen the next day, SES light, I get a P0332, bad knock sensor. Replace it, boom, it goes bad again. Replace it, boom, it throws the code AGAIN. Im going insane, all the connectors and sensors are good so we look in the pcm and there is corrosion around the KS pin, clean it up, problem fixed. After all of that, the car feels boring and just the same as when it had the stock manifolds and ypipe on. I get a tune, AFR at 13.5 and put down 326 sae for my baseline. Then AFR to 13.1 and a then it makes 332 sae peak hp , it makes 10-15 more than before all the way up until around 5k then it only slowly levels off the match the baseline curve. THe mods are in my sig, I was hoping and expecting about 330-335 baseline and 345 tuned. ok, the next day i find that my #8 spark plug is loose and wobbly, it was making an awful ticking noise, we thought it was an exhaust leak. Fixed that and the car still feels the same. So, do ya'll think the spark plug was the problem and the reason for low hp numbers? Also after reading this thread i think i am going to pull my plugs to see if any are cracked. I just dont know why LT's didnt make my car faster. And I KNOW it didnt because i ran my friends' cars before(just cutout) and after(lt's and tune) the LT's and all had the same results . I even ended up losing to a guy i had previously beat, but that was when I was throwing the P0332.

PLEASE HELP!!
THanks guys, sorry for the long post, hope im not hijacking the thread...

I would definitely check them, worse thing can happen is you'll find out there is a crack plug(s). I'd start checking everything though from your plugs, plug wires, MAF sensor, fuel filter, coils, 02 sensors...

Yea I agree but there was NO improvement at all, maybe 5 hp. My friend has the same exact mods but without the p&p tb and he is an A4 and he put down 333. An m6 should usually put down more than an auto.

Im going to check the plugs/wires whenever i get a chance. What would the MAF sensor have to do with it?

MAF sensor deals w/ your A/F @ WOT, correct me if I'm wrong. So if you're using K&N and recharged w/ their cleaning stuff and re-oil it, you may have put some oil in your MAF sensor to not read in coming air right. I always make sure MAF sensor is clean by checking them every oil change. Clean the sensor w/ Q tip with alcohol solution. You can also get a cleaner for this in radioshack. Be VERY CAREFUL w/ the sensors, they break easily.
