Default Y Pipe

I am looking into the 00-02 LS1 SLP Y Pipe set up. I am going to be pulling my M6 out for a re-build and since I will be dropping the exhaust I thought that replacing the stock flat Y pipe would be a good idea. I am wondering what people's thoughts are on the SLP Y pipe? I can get it from the WS6 store for $199 shipped. I have cats and stock manifolds with a 3" Flowmaster cat-back.

I would recommend installing a set of LT headers instead, and save up for a Y-pipe. The install isn't all that bad and you will see much better performance gains. Plus a much better sounding exhaust.

I have the SLP LT's and Ypipe, and clearance is horrible just so you know. But I don't have any problems bottoming out, I just avoid all speed bumps.

slp is full-of-****, maybe 2-3hp, but you will notice a deeper tone to your exhaust

I agree. send the y-pipe back and order long tubes as soon as you can. Why waste money and time on negative effort.

I know the flowmaster doesn't flow well and because of that I am planning a cut out. I would like to upgrade the Y pipe at the same time and I am considering the SLP. I am just wondering if the SLP Y pipe fits well and provides decent gains or if there is another alternative that will fit better and provide better gains, while still bolting up to the stock manifolds and cats.

I have one on my car because it came with it. if you want to buy it and save some money instead of getting a new one I should have it removed within a week.

What kind of condition? Pics of it on and removed?
