I have a serious problem,,,, help please Everytime i start the car i have no problems, but when i go to put the parking break down the car turns off and all the lights on the dash light up.
This is a 6 speed car.

Re: I have a serious problem,,,, help please sounds like a pinched wire, and a short in the emg brake. If you don't mess with the break at all she runs fine?? and doe not do it when you set it ( which still sounds right seeing it would stretch out on open and pinch on close) if these are all yes, then again I restate my statement.

Re: I have a serious problem,,,, help please Right now my car is parked in my garage, I start it with no problems at all and the parking break is currently engaged once i release the parking break my car shuts off and all the dash lights come on and i have to engaged the parking break again to start it.
Can you tell me which wire is the one that controls the emg break?

Someone somewhere has messed with your wiring. The emergency brake circuit is supposed to enable hatch release, and as I recall the DRL circuit. It is a black wire, just under the E-brake.

Re: I have a serious problem,,,, help please Did someone hack in an alarm, remote start or stero? Zeta is right, the DRL & BCM get input on this wire . Stange that it needs a ground off the p/b light switch to run.

Does the car restart with the brake off, does it crank over at all?. Start by pulling the fuse for the headlights, see if you still have the problem.

when you put it all the way down it dies,have you tried in the middle, and all the way down to the last click but now all the way down.
trying to see if it is lights related or short ( I think it is a short either way BTW) like someone
had mentioned before about the head or DRL lights.

It is not a *break*, that is what is wrong with your wiring. I guess I should be quiet and just go shopping for a pear of shoes.

My black wire was tapped into underneath the steering wheel, but that should effect anything because it wasnt cut.
