Default Dynamax SuperMAXX Header Systems

Anyone have any opinions on Dynamax SuperMAXX Header Systems? My local shop has suggested these for my car. I did a search and there was lots of mention regarding leaks due to flanges not being welded, but the posts were several years old.

I have them... the flanges do not leak...

(each flange has a metallic donut gasket... and the 4 bolts don't need much tightening).

Good ground clearance, good fit, easy install, comes in a complete kit.

Nice picture. I'm guessing those are hi-flow cats just below the collectors?

yeah, nice headers...but for $1400+. I guess if you are not on a budget and don't care how much you spend on parts, then go for it! They ARE very nice headers.

True, but if you want to go Hooker instead, after purchase of y pipe and cats, you aren't a whole lot cheaper. Plus these tuck nicely for a lowered car. Could do Pacesetters, but I DON'T know much about them.

I've had the Supermaxx kit since January and couldn't be happier.

My ARH's with catted y only ran me 1250 plus shipping so you might consider these. My dyno numbers speak to the quality of these headers. The merges are amazing, install was a breeze.

I have to agree with everyone. I too have them and have had them about a year or so. By myself in my driveway they took less than 4 hours to install first time never having done it before. They come with everything you need. Since then I took them out to get passed smog here in Cali. and put them right back in the next day. The amount spent is well worth the quality and fit of this system. Good luck and enjoy if you get them.

the ARH's will probably outperform because of the merge collectors and the merge in the y-pipe, but remember, the dynatech is a whole kit. you get gaskets, extensions, bolts, the whole shebang. with ARH, you still have to buy your extensions, get new bolts, you'll probably want to upgrade your gaskets (i don't know if they give you gaskets or not, and if they do, i don't know if they're any good), so bam, you're up another $100 in parts.

they're both a good header and the price justifies them both i guess.

Will the Supermaxx system fit with an aftermarket torque arm?

These are Dynatech headers. I have them and like them. They are a complete bolt on kit down to the O2 extensions.

They fit fine with my Spohn Torque Arm. Because it's 2 1/2" piping instead of 3" the clearance issues are near none.

Choco, those are Dynatech as pointed out by HAZ-Matt;

they also come with full colour photo/text instructions.

Look at the Y-pipe tail merge piece, it is very nicely made, nicely radiused, and reinforced.
