Default What radiator hoses do you guys recommend?

Long story short... the GM,Gates, and Goodyear rubber hoses are crap... the lower hose anyways...

I've had them burst, collapse, and they just really aren't made well... I'm looking for some sort of stainless steel braided non-collapsible hose mainly for the lower section...

has anyone found any substitutes for this?

I found these guys carry some, but not sure which one, if any, would fit...

Scroll down, click on "plumbing" then scroll down again and click on "radiator hose"

Spectre is for custom apps and show cars. You can run them, but I'm not sure about durability in a daily driven environment.

IMO they look out of place on anything but old school muscle.

yea i don't really care if it's Spectre or not... they were just some I found... I'm just wanting some sort of stainless braided non-collapsing hose in place of the rubber ones...

I've gone 193k on the stock hoses. Just replaced the water pump, and they still looked in good shape. The dealer said they've got a lot of LS series truck still running at 300k with the original hoses, and not to worry about it. They don't even stock them because they never have to replace them.
I put the originals back on, and I'm not worried about them at all.

well, your first post starts out as calling the highest quality hoses on the market, as crap.

then you later say you tried the gates and had the same problem

my instinct tells me, its not the hoses thats the problem, but you probably have some other issue thats causing the hoses to collapse. its highly unlikely that both your stocker, and a quality replacement failed in the same way... especially since its uncommon for these cars to have hose problems.

Goodyear makes some blue Hose that are made from EPDM Rubber that is supose to last 5-10 times longer and has a burst rating 10 times stronger that normal hose.. I know that Summit cares them, but most likely if you have a good parts guys, he should be able to look them up and get them.

GM also has some Green ones that they used on the Police and services model cars.
