ls6 intake install parts
My plan is to dremmel out the waffle on the back of the intake and keep the original coolant lines. Has any one done this dois it work.?? Need to know as I am doing this tonight or tomorrow and want to have all the parts I need.

yeah a lot of people have done this, do a search. Just be careful you don't cut into the bottom of the manifold.

best way is not with a dremmel... it easier to take a hammer or rubber mallet and a flat head screw driver and knock them off. they come off very easy. this way you have a less chance of cutting in to far.
then just lightly tap the coolant lines with the rubber mallet till they are touching the valley cover.

Yea I just got done cut them all w grinding wheele first and that kinda suked so i used some old wire cutters and cut off a good bit. Dam electricity went out so now I have no air conditioners radio or lights just laptop battery. So I am ready to test fit but not till I get some lights. How much has to be cut off I have it almost flush.

So how did the "knocking off" the waffles go?
I just picked up an intake and am trying to decide if I should do this or just buy the coolant lines..
I wouldn't mind saving the $50 for the parts..

I took a grinder and shaved down until the underside was flat. Perfect fit as long as you remove the clips round the lines, also put some electrical tape where the knock sensor crosses the coolant line. It'll pinch it so you don't want to take a chance it'll wear thru to the wire and short out. Not that it will, I've checked on mine and it's been fine after nearly 20000 miles.
