High RPM, full throttle pining/detonation I've had this problem since I bought the car... when I'm getting on it, it runs smooth up until the really high RPMs (5k+, about to shift) I get fairly loud pinging.
New spark plugs/wires, fairly new fuel filter, new air filter. EGR/AIR removed.

How long have you had the car ?
Could be the Knock Sensor are not doing there job and the PCM is not retarding the timing ??.. one thing to check, maybe wire to sensor or other sensors? We know that the 98 Sensor are not good.
How is your fuel pressure, dropping off at the higher RPM range ..? Clogged Injectors ? Vacuum leaks?
Try running a WOT pass and then shutdown and check the plug to see if your running lean at WOT/ High RPM's.

I've had it for about 6 months now. The cars a '99, so no '98 problem. No vacuum leaks that I know about, I don't have any of the other symptoms. How would I go about checking pressure?
