Holley Powershot
seems like i remember someone saying these are specially fit for our cars over the K&N's.... can anyone verify this?
I currently have the K&N and am gonna change it out for something with a better seal...

I continually hear that the paper filters flow just fine for LS1's and the paper filters fit well. I think one reason the holly powershots are used are because they are blue and people like they way they look through a clear MTI lid. So unless you are going for the look I mentioned above, go with a cheap paper filter and replace it every couple of oil changes.

what about the amsoil filters out there? they anygood?
I do know that the holley filter does seem to fit/seal better than the K&N. I will be going back to a regular filter here shortly. I don't believe much of the hype about air filters. The stock paper filter flows fine. My K&N doesn't seal for ****.

You will need the EaA83 for a stock box and a quick hint is to do the Preferred Customer membership in the upper left corner of the online store. The discount is more than the membership costs.

I have the Holly powershot and it seals much better than the K&N. In my experience the only reason I use an oiled filter is because I have my intake sealed to the hood therefore my filter gets wet when it rains. If you don't have your intake sealed to your hood and don't drive in the rain much just get a good paper filter. They all flow the same pretty much.
Sorry for the late reply. I believe I have the Texas Speed lid but it's clear.
