Default LS6 Intake vs. LS1 Intake

I cut the small metal piece on the egr from the LS1 intake. Do I still need an LS6 intake with the cam. Or can I keep the LS1 intake. I know the LS6 intake has better plentium volume. There is no blockage now on my EGR. Thanks for input.

SLP sells a LS6 Intake that comes with EGR provisional. I had on and there nice but if you have cam and things take it with a regular LS6 intake and get the EGR deleted out of the computer.

What all do I need to do the swap. Block off plates and what else. Can I get away without the coolant pipe?

You can chip or grind off the ribs on the bottom of the LS6 intake over where the coolant pipes are. Lots of us have done it and it works fine. Easy and best of all, FREE.

So I can just take the ribs off where the stock coolant pipes run. That would mean I wouldn't have to remove any pipes or block anything off. Do the foam pieces on the LS6 stay on if you use this method?

I would by the ls6 intake. its not that expensive and you can pick up pretty good power, depending on how deep your setup is. Thats my next mod.

Definitely worth it. I got mine off here for 325 shipped and it was worth every penny. Noticeable difference.
