Default Dr. Gas True Duals...?

Just wondering... but TD's seem to of course be the best way to go... I find it odd that nobody seems to be using the Dr. Gas Oval Tubing for more ground clearance?

any reason why not? I mean from the diagram it seems the issue of pipe size won't be an issue...

Hmm I'm interested. Looks like it wouldn't be bad at all.

Expensive, not easily bent, coupling it to your headers is not easy, no traditional muffler would be easily installed in the system, and again trqaditional mufflers in the system reduce ground clearance. There are alot of issues with this particular type of tubing. Short of buying everything from them it really seems like you would be stuck.

It's universal so it won't be a direct fit and that means it would require some fabbing. So, how would you bend it? It seems pretty cool though.

Well i figure there's "some" custome fabbing on pretty much any true dual system you get for an F-body for the most part... but from what I see on their site... looks like you could use a combination of the

Straight ovals

Round to Oval Transistions

X-Pipe

Round to Oval Transitional Bends

and I figure the muffler shop could fill in the gaps where you have the room to use traditional round tubing...

but whats the point of spending the 3x the cost for the small sections of flat oval tubing for added clearance when you still end up with much of the exhaust being round and loosing clearance anyhow?

Coming from two people that have no idea of why the exhaust is setup on that car like that, I find it very ignorant....

Oval tubing would gain some clearance

never said anything about my car being faster and as far as being ignorant... I was laughing because I thought it looked funny... Is that allowed on here? Sheessh... some of you guys really need to lighten up...

back on point... I guess i've been mis-imformed on how much money most people spend on a TD setup because it seems to me that most people spend somewhere in the ballpark of $500-$1000 bucks anyways for a nice decent well made system much like this one...(actually i'm betting the one to the link costs more...) https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....7&postcount=46

that being the case... i don't see much of a price difference?

ive made my own oval tubing by squeezing the pipe on a press. ive made sections that were ovalized to allow pipes to pass under torque arms and such.

dr gas makes some good stuff.just run the same type of tubing (round or oval) as far as you can to prevent excess (realignment) of the spent gas so you wont slow the exit velocity .too many changes in the tubing will slow it down.air doesent like to change its shape once its moving.

Yeah, that is Boyce's setup. That isn't a setup you see everyday. I have only seen boomtubes on one other f-body and it was full blown race like his.
