I got mine thru SLP back when they had a deal on a P+P'd TB for like $170 w/ sensors. It also had the bump stop mod done. I don't have any dyno comparisons, but I did it w/ my lid install... NICE change in throttle response! Felt like maybe a couple hp... I have TR just by taking the slack out of the pedal now.

i just ordered my p&p throttle body from smokin87. got his top of the line as well. it cost a little more, but apparently is worth it. ill let u know how it feels as soon as i put it on

I also have P&P my T/B with a dremel and sand paper (wet sand) from installuniversity.com is where I got the idea. I have been a muscle car guy since 16yrs old, now im 25 and realized when I was about 21 that the LS1's were just monsters out of the box compared to my built 355. Most people dont admit it if they have a pre '01-'02 LS1 that its slower or dyno's less than a '01-'02. They all claim the '01-'02 has smaller cam bla bla bla. Yes! the cam is smaller in numbers, but GM had it on the button with the LS6 intake, and all the other wacky S%I& they put on the last 2 years of the F bodys from left over LS6 parts. All im saying is that 1998-2000 LS1's were about the same (1998 had diff computer and valve covers). In '01-'02 things were crazy, you can find those F-bodys with Z06 blocks,valvetrain parts,bigger injectors,bigger T/B's, different rings, ETC..ETC...point being is I can see how you seen a difference, because you have an '02. I have a '01 WS6 and you prolly have better flow already due to a lot of factory parts just like my car. '01 LS1's had %15 of them come with LS6 block. '02 had %25 of them come with LS6 block. Its no joke, or hype....most '01-'02 LS1's pull 10-15 more RWHP stock to stock against a pre '01-'02. Some SS camaros and WS6's seem to pull up to 20 more at the wheels than the previous years, when they are rated just 5hp more at crank. A '01 '02 would prolly get a better response from T/B P&P. My SLP lid stock gave me 15 rwhp. My buddys '98 Z28 got 7 rwhp, same lid....with LT headers, M6 built,LS7 clutch,ORY pipe 3'', hooker muffler, slp lid, everything else stock as a rock, you cant tell anything is done besides headers it ran 12.67 on fuzion tires and dyno'd 328rwhp. With that done, I descreened MAF sensor, and ported T/B myself and ran 12.49 and dyno'd 338rwhp. It does something!

When I ran one I bought it used off her for 50 bucks...it didnt look like much but after install I noticed a definately gain in both power and throttle responce.

I did mine (maf, and throtle body) diy and didnt polish it, but filed, and sanded everything smooth to the touch, and had a percieved difference, does polishing give you anything?
