Default FAST Intake over LS6..

Hey guys-

Are the gains that much better with the Fast over the LS6 intake?

Also, I'd need to pick up a 90mm throttle body, right? The stocker is too small?

Thanks

Jeff

A 90mm will go with a FAST intake, but they also have the 78mm option. It's up to you and how much your wallet can take.

I hear 20-25rwhp gains on a top shelf head and big cam combo.
Small-medium cams not nearly as much.

Yeah, you will truly see the difference when you do a heads and cam install. without it, the difference isn't as much.

I dont have any dyno numbers but I herd 15-20rwhp gains but for 1000$ its kinda high. so I put it off for a long time and a few months ago I broke down and bought one I can say it made a nice SOTP fell car seem to pull much harder at high RPMs and at the track it gained .2 and 2 mph in the 1/8 to me that was a nice gain

I can attest. I wen from Ls6 to FAST 90/90.. and omg 15+ hp/ real nice boost in sotp department. It;s probably the best intake out there for the money. Yes, I know, it's bout 1000-1200 all said n done, but I think it was worth it.. then again, I'm all bout squeezing the hp from the cubic inches.

good luck on you decision

I just finished up my FAST 90/90 setup today (took about three hours) and all I can say is wow. Right off the bat I can tell a huge difference in throttle response and the mid range is awesome. I haven't been able to go WOT through the gears yet but it's coming. Mine is a H/C car and it woke it up big

i was about to say the same thing...a stock ls1 throttle body is 75mm, you aren't going to enlarge a throttle body by 18mm by porting it..lol. I think he is thinking about the lt1 throttle bodies or something because i believe they are 58mm or something close to that

Damn! Now I'm considering it. Anyone have any input on the gains with a cam only car (torquer v.2)?

Yeh dude.. I know how you feel..

I was like "naaah... the LS6 will be plenty.."

But now I'm like..

"Well, I could sell the LS6 for $300.. then save up the $700 and I'd be golden.. "

i saw 35rwhp/10rwtq gains w/Patriot Stage II 59cc Heads (2.02"int/1.57"ext), and a "SMALL" Comp 224 .581 @112lsa cam...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...9&page=1&pp=40

not exactly "top shelf heads and big cam combo' as you so aptly say...
