Good judgment comes from experience, experience comes from bad judgment.

I didn't notice the plug missing, we normally install a new plug into motors we assemble.

is this familiar Charlie? it was wrapped to the top of the motor.
This used part was in good condition when it was removed from the vehicle: With used engine parts its expected the part be inspected by a machinist before installing.......

would you like me to send you a plug?

could have been worse? you could have left a sock in your motor?

Im glad my problem is figured out, and I thank fraser for making it right. its just so disappointing to think youve had a car done 4 times now and each time something else is wrong.

Recall my advice to you to buy a Helms manual, get someone experienced in LS1s...you blew it all off and opted for the School of Hard Knocks.

Like I said before, when experience is your only teacher the lessons don't come cheap. Or easily.

Hope you didn't trash a bearing with all that dry running.

Aw, it's just got to be someone else's fault, doesn't it?

If you'd bought a Helms manual, and read the engine assembly and installation sections, you'd have been up and running months ago.

as easy as it is to bash him about it, I can honestly say he's done more than I have on my LS1... so when I finally get around to doing my own build up, his mistakes will, for me, make up for my not using a helms manual as well... I figure he's done ok and has been learning plenty over the various months and fuckups...

granted, I've done other engines before, so I guess it won't be too bad :o
