Even if you had read a Helms, that certainly doesn't mean he would have realized the rear oil galley plug was non-existent. That's one of those things you learn to look for from experience, which his happening now. Someone with experience in building/installing engines would have most likely known to look for it, but he didn't choose that route. The end. That's not something easily figured out from doing this kinda thing on your own. I can be fairly certain in that if I posted a poll for everyone on here on what steps are necessary for an engine swap, only a small fraction would know/mention the issue with the galley plug.

its thoughtful, and thanks for the input but dropping the transmission down is the quickest and easier way for me to put this plug in

well i need a hood latch and loop before i go anywhere with it.

I always thought that the oil plug was ONLY on the 98 cars and after 98 they ditched those entirely.

**oops almost forgot yea- those are stocker hood struts, they will do for now they arent high on my list of priorities.

2) dyno tune

prolly wont be able to do a dyno tune for a while just yet. my birthday is the 25th so im hoping ill get the money i need for it then.

so a quick question for the crowd.

we know now that this rear plug is out, but looking at the pictures. wouldnt the rear cover block that hole, or is there just enough room for all the oil to spill out?
