i was in the same position as you. thinking to go with fast 90/90 setup but after reading the book and seeing that test and knowing the bbk costs about $300 or more less, i'm leaning towards metal.
in richard holdener's ls1 dyno book he tested the ls6, weiand, fast 90, and bbk manifold against the ls1 manifold on a create motor that was producing 460hp. the test was run with the engine running with ls1 edit, some a/f ratio, long tube headers and accufab 80mm tb.
over ls1 manifold:
ls6-15hp/13ftlbs
weiand-15hp/14ftlbs
fast-20hp/17ftlbs
bbk-28hp/20ftlbs
so from that test,bbk out performed the more exotic fast 90 manifold that costs $800 plus, which in my opinion is way to much for an intake. besides the metal manifolds look better and cost less than most composites and from the test work better and should work good for a d/d car.

But as also mentioned the fast is setup for a 90mm tb and the test tb was 80
. Another fact left off in your post was as to which fast was he using, if it was beaten by the bbk I'm thinking he used the fast 78 possibly. I just do not see the bbk beating the fast as this is the only time I have ever heard it.
