Rough idle on stock motor!!!!

Default Rough idle on stock motor!!!!

I'm Got a little bit of a problem I have a 99 WS6, it just locked over 103k miles and it doesn't want to idle smoothy, it even falls on its face sometimes when i tap the gas when its in gear. It also backfires or pops a little bit when i let off the gas from a highr RPM. I have a SLP 85mm MAFS and a LS1 motorsports lid. I also have the loudmouth catback, and some mild dyno tuning done to it about a year ago. I bought the car with 55k miles on it and i have no idea if the plugs and wires have ever been changed. Could this play a role in my idle and the backfiring, or are my performace parts starting to wear out, or has the tuning done something to it over the past year to cause this, i need help, I've checked for vaccum leaks and the motor isn't leaking any fluid or using any oil. Please give me any suggestions.

Plugs are cheap, get a new set, gap them evenly them and see. I'm willing to bet your car will idle better.

i would definitely do plugs/wires first... May want to consider throwing the stock maf back on there and see what happens.

mine was on anyways, I had just done headers and removed the air and egr. so I don't know if it did.. but I would bet yes, it would send a misfire code.

I changed the plug and plugs wire, wasnt as hard as i though it was going to be. It still has a rough idle, not as bad. It runs a lot better and the service engine soon light went off, it starts ideling real rough when i turn the air on and now i noticed that the rpms fluctuate when i first turn the car on. I'm pretty sure that its te MAFS now, but being a dumbass, i sold the stock one. Thanks for all the help guys.

full tune up! fuel filter, plugs, wires, air filter, oil change, pcv valve all this maintence can do alot for a car
