the lm1 is louder some say its to loud. the lm1 has a more raspy sound to it. i have a custome single exit lm2 and it sounds good its deep with no rasp. in my opinion you would like the lm2 better.

The loudmouth is VERY loud. I loved it when I had in on my SS with FLP LT's and ORY. Granted with my FLP's I could throw the cats in, but it was still louder than all of my friends cars with similar mods. Some people try to trash the loudmouth, but IMHO it is one of the meanest, most vicious sounding exhausts that you can put on your LS1/LT1 car and with LT's it's better. It sounds way better with a catted Y though. The only bad thing is that every time you get on it, everyone in a 2-3 mile radius will hear you=cop magnet. It does have some drone, but I shifted around the ugly spots. I went with the borla on my Hawk and I love because of the look, sound and adjustability. Not to highjack the thread.....the loudmouth sounds great, is light weight, stainless steel, and won't kill your pocket. The I've heard both the LM1 and 2 in person. They both sound good, but make no mistake, the LM1 will blow any cars with equal mods out of the parking lot at a cruise in. The LM2 has a slightly more refined sound and only slightly less loud. The LM1 highlights a raw, unrefined LS1....both the good and the bad....but way more good to me. Good luck with your selection.

LM1 for sure, I just put mine on this week. I'm in love, WOT is like sex to me. Sounds like the nastiest wide open exhuast but with cats can still be nice for cruising.

The LM2 is only a little quieter, but sounds better than the LM1. The LM1 has kind of a tractor sound to it, so I went with the LM2. I think both of them sound crappy with LT's and ORY.

I'm an old 46 and love my LM1 but it is wicked nasty at WOT, even with my 4" spun cats. I love the crakling and popping sounds on deacceleration, sounds freaking nasty.

I love my LM1. Absolutely awesome sound at idle and at WOT. However, I'm running open headers right now and don't really feel like putting it back on

IMO, you really can't go wrong with either.
