Default E-cut out worth it ???

I have an SLP dual/dual that I'm about to put on along with a set of LTs and an ORY. I have read many times that the dual/dual is the best flowing catback around.

Would it be worth putting a e-cut out on or am I wasting my money?

Get a manual cut-out. You'll find yourself leaving the cut-out open 99% of the time

if its a DD then get the electric, if you have another DD then a manual one is what I would reccomend, and put your money towards other things.

I'm with Brian 2006, you will always have the cutout open...It's such a badass sound!

The dual dual is far from being the best flowing catback.

I always leave mine open, plus the fact that i've been through many of the electric ones and they ALL have fallen apart or broken in some way.

I'm very well aware that the dua/dual is not the best, but they do flow pretty dam good. I did word that wrong I'll admit.
I've read in a few threads where the individual had a small incease with the cut out open. The gains were in the neihborhood of around 10-15 rwhp.

What would you consider a better flowing catback?

Also is my information wrong about the gains, if so please correct me. Just wanting to go in the right direction. BTW this is on a DD for now.

I feel like I lose low end power on the street with it open but pick some of it back up in the upper rpm's.

A cut out is mostly for sound. on the dyno I saw a 3rwhp difference. Now if soemone was pushing over 600rwhp a cutout would give more benifits to as the catbacks are good to only so much HP.

I got a 1rwhp increase with dual cutouts open with a cam. It's predominantly for sound. The SLP dual/dual flows very well. Pretty much any catback that isn't flowmaster flows the same unless you go true duals.

I will be doing this same setup... LTs, ORY, with the dual/dual. I was under the impression that this catback flows very well too. I already bought a manual cutout and will be installing it if the LTs and ORY do not wake up the dual/dual to my liking. It is very quiet right now and I hope it gets a bit louder with the LTs and ORY.

SLP Loudmouth (if you like it loud), Magnaflow (if you like it quieter).

I had the SLP dual/dual with LTs ORY and a cam and it was quieter than my brother's TA with just a loudmouth. A cutout will certainly fix that though.

Its well worth it trust me! You will leave it open the majority of the time, but its nice to be able to close it on the highway or if you pull up next to a cop at a light...

I had qtp at first..rattled and then quit working altogether. Was not impressed. I then got a dmh. It worked fine but still rattled a bit when closed. The dmh guy offered to fix it but I sold it off to guy that said he didn't care about the rattling.
I bought a pricey street pro but its working great so far. No rattling and smooth and fast opening.
Today I tried some runs with my timer and for some reason car was slower with the cutout open . About two tenths.I wonder if have to retune for open cutout.Would think it would whack the afr but not sure if would make it richer or leaner. I have a decent b and b catback.
The cutout is big fun once in awhile, mostly to intimidate hondas! I wouldn't leave mine all the way open all the time though. It does get annoying after awhile from things rattling inside the car and just too loud. But you can open an electric from just a bit to half to 3/4 to full type of thing so you can get the sound just right. And when the cops are around is easy to close it fast.
Its one of my favorite mods for sure. Now that I have one that so far actually works properly.

i'd check out the mccord too. i am happy with no rattles or issues. but i do leave it open all the damn time. get the cut out welded in first if you find you want to put the elec cap on you can always buy one.
