Safe to run Hooker Long Tubes open?

Safe to run Hooker Long Tubes open? I've got an important car show on the 28th. Were going to be renting out a track for a day so I'll be doing a few passes. I just ordered Hooker LT Headers/off-road y-pipe/02 sims which should be here before the show but I dont know if my cat-back will get here in time. Will I be ok to run open headers for one day taking into consideration I'll also be making a few runs down the 1/4?

The only problem I can see with running open headers is the smell, the noise, and the cops. Here in California if you are caught running no cats you might as well bend over and take it in the ***. I don't know about your state though.
So to sum it up, it won't hurt your car, but it may hurt your ears and your wallet.

Re: Safe to run Hooker Long Tubes open? I ran open headers for a while and loved it. Im just one of those guys that loves a loud car. Youll get alot of attention from having them open, itll also sound very powerful.

Re: Safe to run Hooker Long Tubes open? Just for grins I took off the factory Y and ran manifolds and the little pipes with cats still in and it did sound a lot meaner. I am lookin at a set of headers right now and plan on running them open for fun just for awhile, there was a post done on this awhile back and many people have done it

I drove with my SLP's to open to the muffler shop as well, I have never received so many comments on my car before, On the way I had to stop and get gas and I had to stop by Home Depot although I forget why now,,, anyways at the gas station when I started her up a guy that was walking by my car was like God Damn!!! but in a good way, every other person was looking at me like they saw a ghost, at home depot a couple of the employees gave me a thunbs up, I wish I could run it like that again but I'm sure in time the cops would have gotten me.
