The sound is way too loud/raspy IMO. Though it seems to sound better when you add a catted Y.

if you want the lm1 sound just dont put a muffler on it

when i did my exhaust i had a lm2 on it and the actualy muffler severed itself in half some how right where you connect it so i put a pipe in its place. with my lts 3in ory and exhaust it was the loudest but sounded terrible at like 2k-2500rpms

but tds win overall

I've had my 02 Z/28 1 week. It came with a lid and a LM1 as the only mods. I ordered Magnaflow after 3 days. This car with manifolds, cats, and a LM1 is louder than my old H/C Z/28 with LT's, custom Flowmaster y-pipe, and Borla. I installed the quad tipped Magnaflow Saturday, and the car sounds great. The tone sounds better, and it's a ton quieter. I think the noise level will still be OK when I install headers and a oryp. Buddie of mine has a LM1 with QTP's, oryp, and a G5X4 cam. It's way to loud and sounds like chit too. He'd tell you the same thing if you asked him.

I have the lm2 and have not met one person who doesn't love it. Any time I pull up in my car the first thing people say is they love my exhaust and whenI tell them it is a lm2 they look shocked

I have the lm1 with slp lt's and ory, heads and cam with the compression bumped up. and ITS LOUD AS F@%K! This system is not for everyone and to be honest you either love it or you hate it. Theres no in between with this exhaust. I have gotton alot of compliments with people asking what I got on there and I get alot of unwanted attention from the police as well. You would really just have to hear it in person and ride in a car that has it to see if you like it or not.

LM1 is the best sounding exhaust without LT's or with some shorties. Once you do LT's, it's drone city, population = rasp, and you're the mayor.

I had hooker super comps, ory, LM1 on my lt1 and i LOVED it. The sound at WOT is something that will replay in my head for years to come. Nothing sounded better IMO. Highway never bothered me, but in the cold mornings sometimes i could have done without the loudness at 7am leaving for work.

i love it personally. with my stall, i can keep the rpms just under where it starts to get raspy and poppy for every day acceleration to keep up with traffic. as far as wot, well there is no sound like it, except for true duals

Ive got the LM1 with edelbrock short headers and an SLP ORY.

The sound is ok...it backfires and pops sometimes and I dont really like that, it also hangs really low due to the design and placement of the muffler and it scrapes sometimes.

Soon I will do my H/C swap and have Ryne over at CMS build me a true dual system!

It sounds great at WOT in my opinion, but definitely has rasp. When driving around normally you will notice a crackly, popping sound; which is rasp.

You should go TDs... just as loud and aggressive sounding, but without the rasp.
