Default I might go to Hooker carback your thoughts?

Well I started out with: pacesetter longtubes pacesetter ory and magnaflow cat-back, I liked this setup at first then something grew on me that I didnt like about it. So I built my own true dual setup with 3" x-pipe and 3" pipe to moroso spiral flowsm, and this setup sounds bad *** mean as hell but just too loud. So i was thinking about selling the magnaflow catback and the true duals and get the hooker. I have heard many good things about the hooker, will it align up with my pacesetter ory?

just use an exhaust clamp man from the auto store and you should be straight bro .

man you got to love them duals though and i am willing to bet you will be thinking of them after you convert back or at least modify the duals to quiet down .

good luck man

Take the x-pipe out and replace it with a dual in/dual out muffler. That should quiten it down quite a bit and you still get the performance of the duals.

Just add a set of cats. Retain the sound and lose some volume.

Well I forgot to mention do not like how low the duals hang I have them practicaly touching the floorboard and they still are pretty low. I have plans to lower my car in the future so thats one reason I was considering going back to a catback setup

Just put your Magnaflow back on - there isn't that much difference between that and a Hooker to make the swap worth it. If you want to tame your Magnaflow, get rid of the cannon tips it comes with and get some dual or 2.5 tips. It will be as quiet as a Hooker then.

Its not that the magnaflow was too loud it just doesnt sound all that great to me anymore. I have heard magnaflow compared to hooker and hooker has a more of deep muscle car sound to it more than the magnaflow to me. I just like change i guess.

IMO the only thing better about the magnaflow is that its stainless. I personally like the sound of the hooker better, however the difference is marginal. They are both about the same volume, the Magnaflow is probably a hair louder and a bit raspier

+1 on the hooker. Its probably the best sounding catback for the money hands down.

Hooker love fest goin on.. I put pacesetter Lt's, ory, and hooker on about a month ago and Love it! I'm like you, my previous Z had true duals on it and while it sounded good, it was just to loud for DD. My car now is an A4 and I wanted something kind of tame for when the stall and cam comes.

I feel your pain. I've been through what your going thru.Started with a Magnaflow cat-back , just too quiet. Went with a Super-Turbo & it was a little better but not much. Then I went with the Texas speed (TSP) & its was way too loud, so I went back with the Mag. but with some 3" rolled end cannon tips. Getting there ! I have a brand new Hooker ready to try when the weather permits . Everybody says the Hooker is a little louder than the Mag. which is what I'm looking for I hope,I hope ! This ****'s gettin expensive.

Love mine & wouldnt swap it out for any other system, ever. If this muffler eventually takes a dump, I'll replace it with another just like it.

Hooker and Magnaflow basically go hand and hand. I went from a Hooker to a Magnaflow and the guy I bought the Magnaflow from went from it to a Hooker. The sound basically the same.

Im going to have to disagree with you on that. Maybe with stock maniflods and y they sound the same but with longtubes and ory they sound different, the increase volume and velocity of the exhaust can change the tone of a muffler.

Click on my fquick link in my sig. Towards the bottom I've got about 4 vid clips of my setup. I've got the Hooker headers though, but it's a off road y-pipe and hooker cat-back.
