Default Hooker or Jet Hot

I am not sure which header to go with for my 00 SS. Both brands seem to be pretty good, but which one has a better build quality? Which one makes more power? (Kind of a dumb question since both are basically the same design). Which is better value? Which would you get if you were in my situation? What are the pro's and con's to each one? Thanks

I have to vote for neither. Pacesetters will be a better fit, better ground clearance, and a better finish for a better price; and no I don't work for pace setter.

i have jethot and i believe they are the exact same as hookers. just diff names, when i seached many people said these have good ground clearance so i went with them. i was dissappointed with the cats, jethot cats slip inside and DO NOT pass visual test . my coated jethots look beautiful. fit perfect. i paid about $900 for headers with Y pipe and cats. i think texas speed has the headers and a y pipe w/o cats for a good price.

I have the Jet Hots. As stated, they are the same as the Hookers. They fit great and have good ground clearance.

Hookers and Jet Hot's are basically the same. The main advantage of coated Jet Hot's vs. Coated Pacesetters is that the Jet Hot headers and Y-pipe are coated inside and out with 1300 sterling silver coating and come with Jet Hot's warranty. Pacesetter coats just the headers on the outside only with 1300 degree coating, and they come with no warranty. The reason they have no warranty, is Jet Hot only warranties the 1300 degree coating when done inside and out. Basically doing the coating inside and out has a "double bagging" effect, where the inside coating does most of the cooling work, and keeps the outside coating from ever getting hot. When coated on the outside only like Pacesetters are...the outside coating has do it all (look good, and insulate), and often fails because of this. This is why you see so many complaints of Pacesetters having the coating come off so quick.

Also Jet Hot has a removable cat Y-pipe that allows you to go from catted to off road whenever you want. It too is coated inside and out.

We sell the Jet Hot headers here-

If you have $600 saved, save another $150 and get some Stainless QTP's. Great fitment, and quality.

my vote would be pacesetters and a ls6 intake why not get even more hp than you would on a $600 dollar set of headers

I'd try to look at your stainless options by Hooker and Edelbrock. I'm not a fan of coatings, and although I've never had them, I read posts and see pictures from a lot of people here, and the one constant seems to be they usually start rusting at the collectors. I don't know about the Jethots as I haven't seen as many pictures of them on cars, but it's seems pretty consistant with the rest of the coated LTs.

its a really hard decision for me between the jet hots and the pacesetters. I'm leaning a little more towards the pacesetters now, but im not entirely sure yet.

Pacesetters are the better bang for the buck(everyone knows that) but it if u got a couple more hundred to dish out..why not? I have no complaints w/ my Hooker LT's and like the tone it gives off over the pacesetters.. i say go with Jet Hot/Hooker

I just got my hooker headers and they look great. Theyre not on yet but I've heard the diff between paceseters and hooker/jet hot. I liked hooker. the best part is when u tell ur wife or gf that u just got a pair of hookers sitting on the porch. lol

By the way the hooker headers come with everything u need. Gaskets, bolts,02 extensions, and dont forget 2 cool stickers that say I love my hookers.

I have Jethots. They are a nice, quality header. Fitment is fine. I have no ground clearance issues and thats with the beast of an ORY (Mufflex). I bought them from Maryland Speed....who's service and pricing is exceptional....back in March of '06. Here are some pics:

I can post pics of the Mufflex ORY if you are interested. It bolts up to the JetHots with no clearance issues and fitment is great.
