blockoff plates for egr please help

can i just use some sheetmetal to blockoff my manifolds or do i need something thicker

i would say it would be allright as long as it doesnt loosen and its air tight

For my old headers I used part of a street sign that somehow ended up in my workshop. I used two layers, also used rtv.

That looks better than mine did. Mine was just two rectangular pieces with holes drilled in it. It served it's purpose though. Actually it's still serving it's purpose because it's still on the headers in another car.

Sheet metal ain't good ... I cut out a template using tin from a beer cam and used a hammer to create an imprint. Then I used tin snips to cut out the tin piece as a template. Then, I drew arond this template on a piece of thick aluminum and it looked as though it was factory cut, once I smoothed the edges down with a file.
