Talking True Duals vs. Catback

I have a question for you guys, ever since I went to Long tubes I've always had true duals with no back pressure whatsoever. How will the car run with Long Tubes and a Y-Pipe and Cat Back system? I have had true duals and long tubes for over 2 years and I am getting curious about having a quiet car again with bottom end torque.....anyone know what that's like? What's the best flowing quietest system? Thanks. -Tom.

I havent had true duals to compare to mine, but I got a y pipe and a magnaflow catback system. It's not very loud in the car, but I know it's pretty loud out behind the car. So I guess that's all I can tell ya.

If you want a quiet car again then put the y-pipe back on and run a cat back system. One of the best cat-back systems is magnaflow, all stainless steel and priced decent. Im gonna go true duals cause I looking for free flowing with the supercharger. I like my slp loudmouth system but, its way to loud.

Are you running 2.5" or 3" duals, and what other mods do you have? A good flowing 3" cat back system with an ORY will still be pretty loud on the throttle. When I put on my long tubes I could definitely feel a difference up top, and with the ORY and LM1 it is pretty loud.

I'm running the TSP 3" True Duals with glass packs, they dump just before the rear axle. It's beyond loud. I have it coupled with the SLP LT's and it flows like a champ. I installed when I decided to run a larger stall and the 150 HP Wet Shot of N2O. The car is quick but it's very loud. I enjoyed it at first but it's been 2 years and I'm going deaf!

You'll have more power everywhere, including low end, if you keep the true duals. If you want it quieter, just swap mufflers to some Magnaflows. I have a buddy on here that uses them and his car is a LOT quieter than most true dual setups, and the car still runs nicely.

No actually he is a Pointer/Bully mix. Nothing like a 90lb lap dog!! Oh, and to the OP I would say Magnaflow as well for the best all around sounding and good flowing cat back.

You mean install mufflers (Magnaflow) in place of these glass packs? Do they make a low profile muffler for this area? Thanks. -Tom.
