Ls6 Pcv??
I bought stock 02 heads for cheap b/c my 98 had a miss shift and bent valves so this was a cheaper route. I already have the valve covers coming but what I dont know is is the ls6 pcv upgrade necessary? I mean i know ill have it all apart already and could change the valley cover and complete to this system easily just wondering if i really need to or not?

well you can tell if youre using oil just by checking it (duh) i was using about a 1/2 quart every oil change and it was all over my TB and on the inside of the intake. Im in the process of reuilding my motor now and I was originally planning to just run a catch can, but when the stock pcv lines broke I said **** it and bought the LS6. The LS6 draws from the valley with an oil/air serperator, some people have good results of using less or no oil, otheres dont. So im gonna try it anyhow, besides, I get to get rid of all those ugly black hoses.

LOL yea i knew checking it but I was more curious of if you were seeing more oil in your intake or what. Also if i get an ls6 intake does this change the pcv conversion any?

I had the same problem my self on my 01 and i did away with it all , i cap everything off and put a breather were the oil cap was and put a 5.3 pcv valve with a small piece of hose on the end of it. And i it solved my oil problems . My oil level hasn't moved on my dipstick for a month and i am a daily driver. It only cost me $4.99 for the breather cap, and $3.99 for the block off caps. If you need pictures ,i can send them to ya!!!!! just pm me

you might have to modify your engine block a little for the valley cover. i know on some of the blocks you have to grind a spot down a little bit because the cover wont sit down all the way. i think it's the some 00 blocks and older. i have the ls6 pcv on mine but i didn't have to grind at all cuz i have an ls6 block. i'd try the 8 dollar pcv valve from gm first before you try the valley cover. it might work
