Default which exhaust sounds good

I am looking at getting headers and exhaust. Im leaning towards the pacesetter lt headers. I have no clue what exhaust sys to get. The borla set up is like 800+ while most others seem to be around 500-slp, flomaster, magnaflow, etc. I want something for performance and a killer sound that is loud but still street legal. What are your opinions? Also the pacesetters lt's arent set in stone so if you have a better combo recommendation let me know.Im looking to drop about 1k for the setup

GMMG, Magnaflow, Corsa would be the three cat backs I can think of.

tips do not effect sound almost at all. Even resonating tips don't do much. If you are doing it for performance. The only cat back that will flow better than a cutout will be a nice set of tru duals. I love my cutout, I have raced dozens of m6 or a4 ls1 with a catback and lid (corsa, gmmg, flomaster.borla, hooker) you name it. And me with just my little e-cutout a4 and I always win. I have heard pacesetter ls1 with a catted y pipe and a cutout on the i-pipe and they sound sick. You can not beat the intimidation level of a cutout, besides a mean lope or a whine. The td will cost 10 times more but will flow better. Go to ls1sounds.com and you get a ton of examples.

There's a rumor going around that GMMG sounds pretty good! Especially with some Kooks LT's and a Kooks Catted-y..

I like SLP, but if you are running w/o cats it will be way too loud. W/O cats go with Magnaflow.

GMMG sounds the best but is expensive. SLP in either LM1 or LM2 (whichever one you like better) would be second IMO.

Get an electronic cut-out and you'll be good to go.

You'll gain performance, good sound and pass emissions.

Here's a video of my cat with the cut-out open all the way (it does have a cam though).

im running magnaflow catback with pacesetter longtube headers w/o cats. its a nice mellow sound. pretty quiet driving around, but once i get on it, its pretty loud. if i could choose another catback it would be corsa or maybe slp loudmouth!

GMMG is a nice sounding exhaust and well built.
