Default QTP Y PIPE SUCKS!!! Want to start over!

Ok, where do I begin? A few years ago I wanted to beef up my 99 Camaro SS and make it sound awesome...
So I ordered QTP headers and Y pipe! I wanted the best... Everything went in, everything was fine, but what the hell was that hanging from the bottom of my car? It was the freaking y pipe! The guy who installed it in for me, told me they might have sent me the wrong Y pipe. Why? Because it's 3in bolting into the headers and 4in bolting into the rear exhaust. Who here, owns a Camaro with a 4in exhaust? That's just huge! I called up the place that I ordered the Headers/Y pipe from and all the Y pipes are like that? Why? Why can't they just make the y pipes normal? Even if it's all 3in. So whatever, I left it in there... a rattling started. At first it was everytime I hit the gas making a turn, now it's just annoying the hell out of me. So I raise my car, and rip the y pipe off. It was bolt on, who cares... Here's where the problem stars....... I don't think anything bolts onto the QTP headers, besides a QTP Y pipe?
I've noticed someone else had this problem. Right now, I have 2 cats, bolted on to the ends of my headers. I missing a y pipe completely. Should I just stop by a muffler shop, or is there a Y pipe that would bolt on to my QTP long tube headers. I don't care if it's an off road y pipe, I have O2 sims in my car.

Call Mufflex. (609) 890-0481

Ask for Denny.

I think they make a y pipe that fits QTP.

Go custom if you want it done right. I also had issues with my QTP Y pipes, and i had 2 different ones. The all come with the 4" merge and are also supposed to come with a reducer for it. I finally stopped dicking around and got a custom exhaust made and I love it. But if you want to keep the Y pipe setup find a good shop to make one for you. It will probably cost as much as buying a new one and fit better too.

You didn't get the collector? The Y-Pipe uses a 4" Flowmaster merge collector, but they also send a piece for the collector that is a 4"-3" reducer...If you didn't get that I think that might be your problem...

Custom piping is the way to go, I wish I spent more on my cats... the magnaflow cats are simply too big causing it to hang low there...

Wow... It's beautiful! Also, look how clean the bottom of your car is! But you're right, it does hang a little low. What is the rear exhaust that you have? Do you even have a muffler?
By the way, if you don't mind me asking, how much? Looks pricey!

You know, now that I think about it, it probably came with it. You see, I had everything shipped right to the shop. After the guy put everything in for me, that's when I realized how big the y pipe ending was, how low it hung, and how big those freaking cats were. You see, I wanted to have a nice sounding car... I ordered those parts for my car, not a freaking JET! Those pipes are huge! I can't even believe it all fit under my car. As for right now, I'm looking on the internet for the nearest Meineke. I'll be headed there in a few hours, and have them make me something. Hopefully they can do it.

Actually a lot of people run 3.5" and 4" exhausts.

Like stated above get a custom y-pipe made.

I installed a QTP setup on a friends car and had the same problem. I think they're garbage too. Ended up having to get something fabbed up for it to work.

Because the y-pipe takes up so much of the under car and has some tight bends, it's hard to make a y-pipe that will fit most cars. That's why you should go with a custom y-pipe that fits your car perfectly.

ls2bait, you're making me sick again. I did notice your driver side header seems to head outwards quite a bit more than I remember mine doing. I can only wish for something that nice. No one here mandrel bends. Edit: mine looks exactly the same. Your friend should make some, he'd have no problem selling them.
