SLP Blackwing Question?
SLP Blackwing Question? Someone told that the SLP Blackwing SS/Firehawk lid’s have a different base then what all the others have and that a blackwing lid doesn't fit as good on a regular lid base compared to a Firehawk/SS lid base???
Can anyone clean this up for me?

The SS had the Blackwind lid as an available option on the
stock "base" (radiator support). I have this lid, it fits like stock
and looks like stock (heavy construction). There was no
difference between SS and Z/28 base. There was one Firebird
model (WS6?) that had a taller base.

alright that takes care of my question... just pissed though cause i think someone saw this and desided to check ebay and the one i was looking at just went from $150 to $220

Be careful about what you buy. The setup that came as
an option was composed of the lid, plut a rubber boot and
AIR hose and an assortment of clamps etc. But later SLP
went "ala carte" and you have to buy them all separate.
If you buy used, have a good idea of what all needs to be
there.

they dont, they are just very very well constructed and fit like a glove. and IMO they look the best of all the lids. the reason they are worth so much, (300+) is becasue they dont make them anymore and they didnt make that many.
