Default hp gains w/ FAST intake???

Ok so i have a 00 SS with: SLP Air Lid, Pacsetter LT headers, Pacsetter Off-Road Y-pipe, Loudmouth Catback, Shaner3 port and polished TB, ASP UD pulley, LS6 intake manifold, Smooth bellows, FM-13 Cam 113lsa, PRC Dual Valve Springs w/titanium retainers, Chromoloy Pushrods. The car dynod at 385 to the wheels at MTI. My question is what kind of hp gains would i be looking for by putting the FAST intake on.

....and you could expect ~15rwhp, maybe more. i ported mine myself, went from 393 through a 10-bolt/Ls6 to 417 through a 9"/FAST

You lost a good bit going through that 9 inch over the FAST though because from what I have been reading the sap alot of power. So you picked up alot more than that I guess, because your baseline would have been lower.

I went from 398RWHP/357RWTQ with a ported TB/LS6 intake to 427/380 after adding an ASP U/D pulley, 90/90, and changed the tune a little bit. So if I had to guess I would say around 15-20RWHP for just the 90/90.

15rwhp max. Your heads will be the limiting factor.

this is results of a cam only 01z28-one has stock intake-other is fast 90
what we gain in top end hp we lost in the low end-not worth it on unported heads

Did you retune after adding the 90/90 or just throw it on the dyno right after the install?

that was with a retune,we never took it off the dyno to change intakes, tuned with ls6 intake, swapped intakes and tb's and retuned for max power.

It's been shown a couple times that the ls6 intake can keep up with stock heads pretty well. It's when you go to a better set of heads that the FAST intake will make a difference over the ls6.

I swapped from a LS6 with ported TB to a FAST, ported LS2 TB, 3" x pipe (from 2 1/2) and high flow air bride and picked up less than 10 hp on a H/C setup

Default TPIS intake

I've seen better gains from the modified LS6 intake from TPIS. They cut the stock opening off and epoxy a 90mm opening. They also recommend running a 90mm to get the most out of it. So it shows most of the gains from the Fast intake is from the 90mm opening and a 90mm TB. That's probably why the 78mm Fast doesn't show hardly any gains. Plus the TPIS intake cost less.
But i would think that on a 427 OR larger the Fast with it's 20% more runner volume would be the better choice. And also FI as well.

Yep thats why I did the TPIS rought. But if your using any kind of forced induction its better to go with a stronger intake.
I look at it this way you need a good air supply and be able to use it to get the most of of an intake. Hp #'s on a dyno are not going to show you what its going to do at the track but it does make you feal good to see a HP gain for your investment.
