1) installing the entire LM catback system (ie, u have the resonator, the intermediate pipe, 2 tips and the piping to go over the axle)

OR

2) attempting to switch the stock muffler for a LM resonator

There is a HUGE difference. Let us know
i as going to do #2 but once i found out how much it would cost and they would pretty much do the same thing as just getting the system i returned the resonator and got the whole system #1. also with the system i will get mandrel bent pipes instead of regular bent and i dont think the shop was going to use stainless steel

there isnt a distributor cap nor a distributor for that matter on an LS1. There isnt even a conventional distributor on a LT1. Buy a manuel, itll help. u should be able to hook it up by yourself. ive taken mine on and off several times. just be careful.

the guy i bought it off of said that a tune up is around 1000 bc they have to lift the passenger side of the motor to get to the distributor cap to replace it

Alright then do exactly what I said before or pull the whole thing out. Your choice. Its easy. Just need lots rust remover to loosen up the bolts that will prob be stuck on the I-pipe. Good Luck.

I think i might subscribe to this thread. While your under there you might want to change your blinker fluid and muffler bearings to. Dude i don't want to bag on you because i know how it is to be a noob, but you need to sit back and read around. That and get a general knowledge of how a car works i.e. take auto tech or something if your school offers it, i'm sure if all else fails your dad would be more than willing to explain stuff. Just my .02

i know how a car works. ive been in love with them since i was 10 and know alot more than yall are giving me credit for. just bc this is my first ls1 and first car doesnt mean yall can make me sound like an uneducated dumbass. yea i might not know everything a 30 year old man knows but i know a pretty good amount. also my dad does explain the stuff but when he was a mechanic their was no such thing as an ls1 so he really doesnt know much about that specific type of motor but almost everything in their is easy to understand if you know a good amount

No problem, just be careful when the car is up in the air, contrary to movie belief, it is not easy to lift a car off a person
