BBK SSI Manifold...Or Save For The Fast 90/90?
I've been hearing alot on the heat soak and I know it's true but I also seen that the BBK outperformed the FAST in Richard Holdener's ls1 dyno book, maybe this was the FAST 78 it outperformed who knows? I found a good deal on the BBK manifold and BBK throttle body for $680.00 free s&h. Is that a good deal to go with or just save a couple hundred more dollars for the fast 90/90. I know the BBK is alot hotter but with Camaro having a SLP Ultra Z hood and the free ram air mod along wit the SLP lid, would the heat soak effect it ALOT?

Yea they look nice but what i'm asking is if anyone thinks thats a good deal to go with? Come on $680 for the manifold and throttle body, why pay an extra $400-500 for the FAST, would the gain be worth it spending that much more? That's what i'm trying to figure out if you would buy the BBK or save up for the FAST?

I have a fast 90/90 on my street cam only car and a Vic. Jr EFI in my drag car. A buddy of mine had the BBK TB & Intake set up and he said he felt a big diffrence in throttle responce and high rpm range.
Soul TKR, did you do and before and after dyno's?

only 1 hp on the switch...that's sad. Wonder if I should get the LS6 intake instead because I don't have $1200 to spend on a intake manifold right now.

i dont really feel a difference.. maybe a little more top end then other ls1s. I can pull away from them on top end.
i have bbk intake and throttle bottle with the free raim air mod, i also have a ss so thats another ram air.. But it sure does get alot of looks when the hood is popped

what ever magazine did the intake comparison when the FAST first came out.
the BBK intake was shown to perform less than the LS6 in the mid rpm range. it only started to show improvement in the very high rpm. if i remember correctly it wasn't untill 6000+, and they only pulled to 6400.
the FAST unported beat them all by about 10hp.
they did say that the BBK could possibly show better gains if you spun much higher...but that wasn't in the scope of the test. and i'm SURE the FAST would have done the same.
guess the question is if you're willing to spend $700 on 10hp....why not $400 more for another 10hp. and down the road $250 will get you even more with a port job on the FAST.
