Default ls6 intake cleaning??

well i am getting my lists together and arranging the parts i already have. i am on the fence about painting my ls6 intake manifold. i want to clean it real good at a minimum, possibly paint it. what methods have people used to clean it real well in all the little nooks and crannies, inside and out?? Do i have to scuff it at all before painting or just get paint that will bond to plastic? thanks.

Just clean it w/ some simple green. tape it off, prime it, and paint it.

i threw mine in the bath tub, cleaned it inside and out. ofcourse, i let it sit for a week or so to make sure it was dry inside, but that seemed to work. got all the dirt off it.

to paint it, i took a scotch brite pad and scuffed it up real good, then blew it off with an air gun, and painted it with Krylon Fusion. **** worked perfectly.

Use the Simple Green as stated. When it pools up in the crannies just blow it out with compressed air. You don't really need to scuff it, but most people sand the casting marks down and the texture down to give it the "smooth" look. If you really don't want to do that, it's okay. Just spray some adhesive promoter on, then use regular rattle can. I've read not to use the rattle can spray that is made for plastics. Also, before you spray, Dupli-Color makes this little Prep Wipe thing for like 99 cents. Wipe down all the grease and any cleaning residue off with it, then spray. My write up. --->

kinda twist it, and pull up. its held in by a little rubber stepped washer looking thing. jsut make sure when you put it back in, it lines up with the tab. other than that, all the 90* elbow is is a peice of pipe. clean that sucker out good.

Yeah, I was just going what I have read on the internet and this board. I have no first hand experience with the Fusion stuff whatsoever, so if it worked for you, it will probably work for this guy.

WHAT THE HELL IS IT ME OR IS THIS THING JUST REALLY IN THERE. i think the sensor is already out. i see the small hole and clip on top of the elbow coming out the back. just trying to verify that the elbow is part of the intake and not to continue to pull on it. or does the elbow going into the half dollar sized hole in the back actually come out? and i thought i was out of the newb stage!!
