Default Header/O2 Sensor Help... PLEASE!

I just finished installing my LT headers, started the car up to check for leaks, and everything was fine. The car started great. Then I put my O2 sensors back in and now it takes it a minute to start. I plugged the O2 sensors into the rear slots, not the front, because that's what fit. Should it be the other way?

What do you mean the rear slots? YOu have places for 4 o2 sensors on your headers?

no just two on the headers. i was meaning that i plugged the o2 sensors into the rear plugs... on the wiring harness. the ones where the after-cat o2 sensors used to plug in.

you need the front o2's installed on the headers. Not the rear. If they dont reach you need to buy o2 extensions. The rear o2's are not needed for the car to run, they simply tell your pcm if your cats are funtioning. You can get the rears tuned out with a tuner program, or you can buy sims. Without one or the other, your check engine light will come on

You need to use the front two O2 plugs and get a tune to remove the rear O2's. Most of the time they require extensions to reach depending on what Lt's you have.

Yeah you definitely need to plug those into the front ones. i made my own extensions, but I would suggest buying some.

Also note that your car will run with only 1 O2 sensor plugged into one side. RedLS1 has his catback off, and he removed the passenger side cat (which has both O2 bungs in it.) It still runs, it sound a little lopsided, but it still runs.
