i tried searching but didn't get anything relevant.
I took my car to the track the other night (posted a thread about it) and when I pulled the plugs yesterday at least one (i only pulled one so far) was cracked.
I HAVE sprayed on the car, but that was almost a year ago and the plugs were fine after that.
The car is stock other than SLP options (lid, lm2 muffler) and RARELY gets beaten on.
It ran fine ALL the way to the track, and broke the first pass.
I'll have to post a picture later, but it cracked from one end near the electrode and made a U back to another part of the end by the electrode.
I've heard of straps melting and the porcelein around that cracking but I have never seen (that i can recall) the part that says "TR6" blah blah being cracked.

An impact might start a fracture which later propagates from
thermal shock or cycling, the plug might appear intact when
installed and finally break later. Supposedly stock car racers
never start a race on fresh plugs, but that may just be a story.

Not necessarily install. When I 1st instal my N2O, I put NGK TR6 plugs in. 4 of them had screw on tips and 4 had pressed on tip. 1st time I sprayed the car the pressed on tip plugs cracked the porcelin and caused some serious misfires. Needless to say I run autolite 103 instead now. **** NGK unless they are going on an ATV.
