Default FAST 90mm Intakes - DISCONTINUED

There have been a few posts concerning this so I thought I'd post up. We recieved an email from our FAST rep. yesterday updating us that the FAST 90mm intake (part #54003) has been discontinued and replaced with the FAST 92mm intake (part # 54039). I just got off the phone with FAST confirming that the 90mm intakes have indeed been discontinued and are no longer available. Hopefully we all find that bigger is better!

Does that mean the 90's remaining in stock will be sold at a discounted price?

Either thay would be sent back and cred apllied to new ones or maybe we might be lucky of a price reduction but there isnt much of a price diff compared to the performance gain, mostly its asstetics

That sucks. I just bought my ported 90/90 setup and it is already outdated. I hope the performance is comparable, otherwise i will feel shafted.

The 2mm difference in the TB neck isnt gonna make a difference. What I want to know is whether or not the runners are the same between the 90mm and the 92mm intake? The runners are the key of the manifold design.

The 90mm prices will come down then since most vendors have them in stock and now we all (those who have NOT ordered yet) want the extra 2mm.

Yeah the 2mm in the inlet is nothing though, I am curious as to why they actually switch to the new model.

Prob due to customers like use freaking out about the difference and its making our heads explode, espcially about the post that deals with the price of the 90mm Alone....

I thought the only difference between the 90 and the 92 WAS the top shell opening..? So if you need a replacement shell, it will be a 92mm shell (the only change).

This way, FAST only has to keep one mold working to keep things efficient. Am I wrong?

Who knows why they discontinued it. I guess they felt it was dumb to have two so close together and felt they might as well just sell only the 92 since it has some updates. Probably a smart from a business standpoint but. Honestly now that i think about it, it only effects the cost. If it doesnt hurt or gain performance, its not a huge difference really. Welcome to corperate thinking gentlemen!
