Alright I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A LS6 manifold. I dont want to hear it. I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT.

My can is mostly show, I want a little bit of go of course. Which of these would be a better swap for my ls1 intake manifold

Why don't you just get an LS6 intake and call it a day?

If you are doing it from a looks standpoint, Weiand all the way. The Typhoon looks like ***.

Weiland all the way. Typhoon is a PITA to install as it doesnt sit very well and the one I installed had parts missing. Get the Weiland and Extrude Hone it and youll have an intake that flows like a fast 90/90

I love my polished Weiand. Best price I found was at Tbyrne motorsports. There are a few mods you need to do to make sure you dont get any leaks. I'm going to portmatch mine to my new heads. If any of you decide to get one, you need to know a few things that arn't in the instructions. When you remove your old intake you need to take a dremel and grind all the round sides of the short head bolts under the intake flat with the head intake surface. They stick out just a little and the intake will not sit flat and you will get a vaccum leak. Aslo grind a little off the tops of the valley cover bolts and if you have the LS6 PVC sticking up you need to clearence it a little as well. First time I installed it I had a bad vaccum leak. You also need to add a little sealant around the MAP sensor seal on a boosted car. The whole they have is a little big...No big deal. Nothing new for a modded car...

Also I port matched my Weiand intake to my TSP LS6 stage 2.5 heads, I matched up my template to my stock 241 head and noticed the stock head to the Weiand would benefit from porting. The Weiand in stock form blocks about 1/8" of the stock head's intake runners floor and about 1/16" of the top of the runner. It looks like the floor of the Weiand's runner is designed to be portmatched. It wouldn't take much to match the floor to the head.. . There was a big difference in the head runner and the intake runner. Most of the work was done to the upper and lower walls. The side walls were very close. I didn't do much on the plenum side, just took of some casting flashing...

Before....

After the porting..

**** that looks good. hell of a lot of work to do extra for a part that should fit right out of the box. I mean, for the price it should fit right on there.

I've had it off since then and ported the snot out of it down further into the runner where it makes its turn(seemed a little tight to me)... I'm not sure on HP gains on a N/A setup, but I'm making 690rwhp/650rwtq at only 5200rpm and 15psi of boost on my car. As soon as I get my belt idler problems fixed I hope to hit 750-800rwhp at 6500rpm ... It was more a looks deal for me. I show my car alot, so if it cost me 30-40rwhp I doubt I would feel it anyway at 700rwhp..

Default Intake

My Typhoon 96 MM intake was a easy right out of the box install. Complete with Fuel rails at a cost of $525.00. Much stronger and looks better then that FAST 90 , My HP gain was a honest 13 HP. I could have gained about 4 more HP If I went with the FAST 90 but at almost twice the price. My wallet and engine won't miss the 4 HP. If you go with nitrous or Turbo you will want to stay away from the plastic stuff. This is what happens with a nitrous back fire with plastic.
