Default bullet length

I've been looking at Dynomax bullets and saw that there were multiple different sizes to choose from. Is it the shorter the louder? Are there any more differences? Any info into this matter would be appreciated.

Well the longer the muffler the deeper the sound. So it depends on what kind of sound you want. Good luck!

Would 23 1/2" be too long or would it still be loud? Jegs only carries that one and the 16 1/2".

The Borla XR1 (part# 40085) that I use for my Loudmouth is 20" long. And that is pushing it:

(These are old pics btw - wheels are different now)

...and here is how free it flows:

It does reduce alot of noise and it also took away alot of rasp.

Hope that helps,
Craig.

I'm not doing a cat-back exhaust. I'm doing true duals, dumped before the axle.

Or is that what you are talking about that is black and chrome before the axle?

Yea I was guessing that, but incase you were doing a cat-back thats why I said it would be close.

With TD's I'm sure you'd have more room to play with, and 3" more than I used does not sound too crazy.

Peace,
Craig.

i got a local shop to do me true duals and i bought 2 dynomax bullets from JEGS...they are 12" in length part#289-24222...they are turned down before the axle and its loud, not too bad at idle or driving down the highway but once you put your foot in it you'll know it, i have no cats with 3" pipe, their website doesn't show them having the 12" ones but the catalog does, all i did was i gave them the part # above and they sent me the 12" ones.

Is JEGS normally the cheapest place to get Dynomax's? Guess I'm going to have to give them a call to see what all they have.

Thats odd, Summit usually is a little bit cheaper on prices and shipping/handling as well.

Peace,
Craig.

I have a problem with Summit because of their web-site. Its not super easy to find what you are looking for. Maybe out of a catalog might be a little better. What do you guys think about Cherry Bomb's?

I'm looking at Dynomax, Sweet Thunders, and Cherry Bomb's right now.

Also, how much quieter are the Sweet Thunders than the Dynomax on a dumped system? I want LOUD and don't want to put the Sweet Thunders on there if they aren't going to be loud. Thanks.

Those lengths include ~3" of extra pipe on each side of the muffler..so the muffler itself is much shorter...

You can always call Summit, but I know its easier to pick items when you can view them.

I'm not sure on how Sweet Thunders and Cherry Bomb's sound. I've only heard my Borla (and other Borla's) and Dynomax on LS1's before. You can try a search on www.ls1sounds.com

Peace,
Craig.

BTW - If you want LOUD, then no muffler at all will fix that!

LOL! Nice CRAGER. I think I'll keep some mufflers on there, I would like to still pass inspection. I don't live in a state where they are really strict, but you do have to have mufflers. I looked on LS1sounds.com until I got a headache, lol. They didn't have any Cherry Bombs and as far as the other 2, it's hard to tell a difference when sound quality is different on each one.
