Default WTF Fast Intake Blows Up with Pics

Just installed H/C package car cranked right up after install and ran very good for about 50 miles. Idle was alittle eratic, never got car over 4000 RPMS. Still had stock 26lb injectors changed injectors to 42lb so I could get the car tuned. After 42lb injectors car would not start. It would turn over and try to start but would'nt, but had fire. Pulled plugs all were soaking wet. Put the 26lb injectors back in car still would not crank. Started trouble shooting the car and found this. Car would backfire when trying to start. Could this backfire be the problem. But I had no idea this could happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks George

which valley cover bolts did you use? I've heard that using the stock ones will put pressure on the intake and cause it to break.... May be unrelated to this though.

many changes to the tune need to be made when modding.
adding injectors without making changes will cause fueling issues,
like running rich or lean.
maybe your cam was installed out of time and caused
the explosion that resulted in a deceased intake?

I've seen a Vette with FAST blow it into 3 or 4 huge chunks because the timing chain broke. So it had a huge backfire after the fuel puddle from number of failed attempts to start it.

Peace,
Craig.

Thanks guys, but I have not had a chance to tear it down yet. I put a new LS2 timing chain on but left the old sprockets, but car seem to run okay until I put the 42lb injectors on. Then it seemed like the injectors would just flood the car. I will take a look at timing chain first of all. I have been running this intake for over a year with no problems. Thanks George

Putting 42 lbers in you would have to get a mail order tune or install the injectors at the tuner. Putting them in on the stock tune would dump a boatload of fuel. That sounds like the problem and the coinciding .

Since you now mentioned that you have a new LS2 chain, and had no problems until the 42lb injectors then you're probably right about too much fuel from them.

I just replied saying what I've seen before, but it was because the chain broke and I didn't know you installed a new one.

Good luck,
Craig.

4.6L Mustangs using nitrous would sometimes have a problem like that...Exploding from too much fuel sitting in a puddle.

A little duct tape and chewing gum will fix that F.A.S.T though...well..according to MacGyver.. Sorry dude!

Big injectors + no tune = bad

Sorry to hear, especially with a pricey item like a FAST Intake. Hope you get it all figured out.
