Default Cleaned up engine bay a little with AC delete panel

Well I was going to pull the HVAC from the dash side of the car this morning but ended up getting frustrated with the dash so I calmly put it back together walked around to the front of the car, climbed into the engine compartment, grabbed a hand axe and starting going ape **** on the HVAC from that side. Worked like a charm. Here's some before/after pictures. Once I get the car back home I'll take the time to take the dash out and finish removing the HVAC and air bags, but I just didn't have the patience today. Anyways, doesn't look as good as I'd like but it doesn't look any worse that's for sure and I'll have alot more room for those passenger side plugs!

It was the first tool that caught my eye, and I was already irritated. I figured what a great way to relieve frustration?! lol

Both. I removed the AC a while ago and while I had the engine out I figured I'd clean the engine bay up a little. I never used the heat anyways.

Yeah, I didn't care to keep the heater core/evap/ect... and the plastic casing is very brittle. If you were in there you'd see what I'm talking about. From the researching I've been doing when you delete the HVAC it almost NEVER comes out completely in tact. People always start out being careful and then after a few hours resort to **** THIS!! and just rip it all out because it's such a pain in the ***...

Newb question: what all is the HVAC responsible for doing and what does it stand for? Thanks.

Is it "heating vent and air conditioning?" I mean, you'll have no heater core either? Sorry for the newb questions.

You're close man, HVAC= Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning. Yeah, I took everything out. The car won't have AC, Heat, Blower, anything. But I never used any of that anyways, so I decided to just save the weight and take it all out. Plus it cleans things up a ton. However, if it's your DD I would leave it all in there. Mines not.

Very nice. I already pulled my heater. I'm getting ready to yank out the heater stuff. Where did you get that plate from. Or did you fab up your own?

Ordered it through BMR. I didn't want to mess with fabbing my own up, I've got too much else going on right now with the new build and school and everything, I really didn't have the time. It was a little pricey but it's powdercoated and it really is a quality piece.

lol. I meant to say i already removed the a/c stuff. I'm getting ready to pull the heater. I think you got what I was trying to say. I'm pulling the dash soon to remove the passenger side air bag so I'm going to do this at the same time. Have you done a k member or manual rack in your car yet?

Less crap in the way the better. I have contemplated deleting mine as well. I like the painted panel over the aluminum finish most people use.

Yeah, I didn't want to use the aluminum. I had mine powder coated red to match. I just think that the aluminum would stick out like a sore thumb and look bad.

Looks very clean, i might even consider deleting mine. In Miami even with the weather hot as hell I still drive with the windows down, but its those rainy days like a monsoon is coming by that make me think otherwise.

Yeah it really does unless you have a sheetmetal intake and valve covers that match.

Just to make sure you got all the frogs off your windshield on those cold mornings right?
