The NAPA GOLD #1522 would not fit on my car because it hit my LT's. The filter was twice as big as a regular filter. Is the k&N 2006 smaller in diameter?

+1 for wix. I used K&N on my other stuff because the 3/4" nut made it a helluva lot easier to take off.

Default Wix Filters

I purchase oil filters from Car Quest. They are made by Wix. Watch for their twice a year filter sale. I just picked up filters for $3.70 each.

I run the now obsolete AC Delco Ultraguard Gold UPF44/58 filters, found a good stash and stocked up, no longer made. FWIW
