Thanks man. That's what I needed to know! about to pull the trigger on them in the next couple of days

yup...don't know what the ecutout is going to help with...could put one in the i-pipe and then move the i-pipe you cut forward to the right length...otherwise i'm not sure what you're talking about.

Well, the clamp seems to have worked. I had to use quite a bit of copper RTV to get it to not leak at all. The LM1 I pipe has those slots in it to expand over the Y pipe outlet. Since you will be butting it up against the BBK y pipe and using a band clamp you have a bit of a issue getting it to seal up good with those slots in there. I got the damn clamp as tight as humanly possible and it seems good and secure and not leaking. I actually should have done the RTV on the whole damn exhaust at every junction along time ago.
That being said, I am only gonna leave that exhaust on there temporarily. It is not as raspy as other O/R y header combos & LM1, mainly due to the quality merge and collectors (IMHO). But still way to loud coming off the throttle and between shifts (A4).
Mind you I love a loud car, but just not exactly the sound I am looking for with the BBK's and LM1.
I really want to try a Spintech Pro Street dumped off the Y. I know that will still be loud but have a nice deeper tone to it.

Sounds like the install went ok I guess im going to have to pick up a clamp when i order the headers. How much louder is it with the headers? Ive read everywhere how loud headers + ory and lm1 is and thats what im looking for is loud If it sounds like complete **** though I may end up picking up a new catback to. Would you say someone that has never done a header install before can install the headers and y? Im still debating on doing this myself or having someone else do it....

Follow the how-to's and you will do fine. Make sure you got a decent set of 1/4 drive sockets, extensions and ratchet. 10MM will become your best friend. I used a combination of shallow well and deep well 10mm and a nice 1/4 ratchet to get all the header bolts. I had to slip a deep well socket with a long 3/8" extension over the handle of the 1/4" ratchet to break the torque on the header bolts. And the closest to the firewall passenger side bolt can be removed easiest from the bottom. (although I went from the top installing all the bolts). Another tip is to make sure you have all the bolts on each header started before you tighten any of them. A good 3-4 turns can be got by fingers . Then work your way back and forth tightening them a little bit at a time. If you have any questions just PM me if you have specifics. Remeber every car is different and issues I had you might not.

I will try and get a video up tomorow if I can. It's pretty damn loud. You may or may not like it, everyones tast is different. It does not sound like the same car though.

Im installing these Friday on my z28 with help from another person does anyone have any suggestions before I start this? I got it on a lift today and sprayed some pb blaster on every bolt I thought I might be taking off and it looks to me like once I get the stock mans out the headers will just slide up? Any advice? Thanks.

yea man 349 off the ws6 store but I bought the msd wires and ngk plugs kit and you need 3 02 extensions because the bbk headers and y used all 4 02s if you want and 1 02 will bolt into the y without an extension no I didnt do motor mounts but I am going to have to get them because I do have some slight tapping on the drivers side....give me a lil bit and ill post up some pics
