Default Stuck Plug wires

Sup guys. Got a problem and wondering if its only with these wire or not and what other wires should I consider. Anyway, I have had some MSD 8.5s on my car for a couple years and yesterday went to change the plugs and the damn wires wouldn't come off. Twisted and turned and almost broke my wrist when one finally gave. I also managed to break one wire inside the cap so I gotta get new plugs wires anway.

thanks

MSD 8.5's are pretty much one of the best wires out there. Some run Taylor wires but I don't see them being "better".

I think he means dielectric grease. The voltage is so high the dielectric strength of the grease is far bypassed and there is no problem with conductivity or anything. It prevents corrosion as well as the clips sticking on the plugs.

None of the aftermarket wires will improve performance or power AT ALL unless you're running big horsepower engines, like over 600 RWHP. I've been through them all and the factory wires can't be beat. I have a tad less than 500 RWHP with my 427ci. Or just use the $36 wires from Advance Auto.

get some taylor's. i like those bad boys cuss of theyr boot design, has a thumb grip deisgn to them that makes pulling them puppies out look like childs play. you also hear the two clicks, sounds almost like you breaking your arm, real nice crisp snap sound to them.

But aftermarket wires tend to last longer and can handle multiple plug changes without damage. Aftermarket plugs can also stand up to heat better. I've never had a melted MSD, like I did with stock wires. Wether its a battery cable, speaker wires or plug wires, there will always be superior wires. This my friend is undebatable fact.

I think wires on these cars are a pain in the *** with out any dielectic grease on them. Its always good to have a couple extra wires around incase you break them if you need to remove them. I did use dielectic grease on my taylors with the header install and 15k miles later I needed to pull one and it was still pretty hard to get off but at least it didnt break. I have read more about the MSDs being harder to pull off then Taylors but the MSD's are a little bigger so thats nice. The reason why I went with Taylors is becase its what Speed Inc. had in stock at the time. I do like the fact that there not that large because they dont come "that" close to the headers so I dont burn them up.

It usually comes with the wires when you buy them. Or you can get it at any parts store. You just squirt a little bit into the boot and then snap it on the plug. Hope that helps.

I used to have a plug wire puller that summit racing and most autoparts stores sell. It can help when pulling the wires. They're less than $10. Dielectric grease is a must when doing plugs you can literally fill the boot with it and put them on it helps to get the wire off, moisture out, and prevents arching. I buy the big tube so I always have it on hand. Remember to fill the plug side and the coil pack side.
